3 tips to help you clean out your closet

1. Anything that needs alterations gets pulled out into a pile.

Whether you end up doing the alterations or just donating it, it still needs to come out of your closet now, because it’s not a viable option to wear today.

2. Anything you haven’t worn in over a year gets pulled out immediately.‍ ‍

There are exceptions like formal wear or extra heavy winter coats. But you get the point. Regular clothes that can be worn in 1 or more seasons, that have not been worn in over a year, take them out.

3. If it doesn’t fit, it’s gotta go.

It might fit in the category above, you haven’t worn it over a year. But more importantly here. It doesn’t fit you. Either you gained weight, lost weight, maybe you had some plastic surgery to enhance or decrease things and now here you are. In a new size that you plan on staying at. So anything that doesn’t fit, needs to go. That skirt that hasn’t fit you in 4 years… unless you are actively in motion to be that size again. Let. It. Go. I say that with so much love for you and your heart. Stop doing that to yourself. Staring at that item and remembering, “Oh when I was 20 pounds lighter…” If you genuinely have no intention and actions toward getting to that size again, let it be and give yourself the peace.

I hope you find this helpful.

Ciao for now,
