I find inspiration in so many things.
Cars, architecture, history, textiles, nature, flowers, trees, someone else's shoes... Seriously, just about anything.
But this Wednesday's newsletter happens to fall on my mother’s birthday, so it felt fitting to make it be about how she has inspired me.
First and foremost, my mom, in her 20’s, back in Iran and in Germany. I remember seeing photos when I was younger and thinking, "Look how cool my mom looks?!”
She was so fashionable! Tall boots, mini skirts, flat ironed hair. All the quintessential looks of the 70’s. That was her.
But beyond her amazing fashion, my mom is one of those moms that all my friends love. She’s generous, loving and thoughtful. She’s always been a great host. Always wanting to help others.
Probably why she is such an amazing teacher. 7th and 8th grade English for almost 30 years. No small feat. And English is her second language and not her last. Add German (which she also teaches), French, Spanish, even some Arabic.
She’s hardworking, smart, committed, and great with money. So many amazing qualities. So many things I've been able to witness over the years and learn from her examples.
I’ll leave this here. And since my mom is my biggest cheerleader, she’ll be the first one to read this newsletter and comment. I love you mom! Happiest Birthdays. Blessed to be with you today.
Ciao for now,
Tami Sofia
