Finding Swimwear that feels best for you
A few tips to help you when you’re shopping:
1 - When shopping for 2 pieces, I always opt for brands that let you pick your own sizing. Meaning the top and bottom don’t come in a paired set. Most women are not the same size, top and bottom. So this way, you can at least pick out the specific sizes you need without trying to squeeze into or always haing to adjust the one piece that isn’t quite right.
2 - If wearing a 2-piece is a little scary, I’d opt for neutral colors and a more modest fit. A slightly higher rise bottom with more coverage on the back. And a top that is more conservative. This way you can ease yourself into the bikini life. 😉
3 - With regards to tops specifically, if you have a bigger chest, getting something more supportive is more flattering then opting for something that shows more skin. And if you’re smaller chested, getting a top that shows more skin, will actually help you look more balanced. Sometimes the more conservative tops just highlight how small your chest is. ** not that you have to have or want a bigger chest, and vice versa, it’s just about balance and how things look overall.
4 - One-pieces tend to work really well on more hourglass shapes. An hourglass body gives a one-piece so much life.
5 - Sometimes you find a certain bottom or top you really like and they don’t have your size in the matching top/bottoms. Get the piece you love and find a solid color that can be paired with it. If it’s a print, just pick any color from the print. If it’s a solid color, look for complimentary colors. (If you ever need help with this, please message me, I genuinely love color pairing.)
