Travel Packing
I’ve seen a lot about this sudoku packing method. I love the idea, but it doesn’t work for me.
Here are a few reasons why.
I pack based on what the trip is about, first.
Am I going on a vacation somewhere tropical, a major city, to the mountains? What is my trip?
Next,
What’s the weather?
What am I doing while I’m there?
Any special event?
Any work events?
Any one of these things could require clothes that don’t fit in the grid, and then it’s all messed up.
My method:
I start with the biggest things, such as coats and shoes. They take up the most space and having your coat and shoes match is an easy way to set up any outfit for success. So pick your pieces and keep them limited.
Next, I make all my clothes match back to those shoes & coats.
I will always do less bottoms and more tops. Think 30% bottoms, 70% tops. I pick bottoms that are clean and kinda neutral. One dark denim, one light denim, one trouser pants, one skirt (maybe one long, one short). This doesn’t need to be your exact map, but it gives you some ideas.
Having tops such as cardigans or button up shirts that can be worn as a top or open, as a layering piece is a great bonus.
I usually take one small crossbody purse and one larger tote bag. I also try to make these coordinate with the shoes. Another easy way to make things look cohesive.
Hope this helps! But if you have any questions, send them my way!
Ciao for now,
Tami Sofia
