A Few Style Tips for BALANCE

First and foremost I want to say there in no one way. There is no black and white when it comes to styling. Especially for all the different body types. And even those can’t be in just a few categories.

So with that being said, here are a few outfit formulas I use, just in terms of shapes/silhouettes. I’m not even talking about colors, patterns, or your specific body. Just the general balance and composition of outfits.

These are my few tips:

1. If you want to wear a baggy sweater, then wear fitted/tight jeans or pants. OR wear a skirt or shorts.

2. If you want to wear baggy or loose jeans/pants, then wear a fitted top. OR tuck in your top. Or wear a fitted sweater. The baggy on baggy usually looks sloppy and juvenile.

3. To wear a crop top without feeling like a 12 year old, wear high waisted bottoms. Skirt, pants, jeans. Doesn’t really matter.

4. High waisted pants with front pleats or a thicker pair of jeans can really help hide your tummy for those bloated days.

5. A really long coat looks great over something a little shorter (i.e. a shorter dress, or a skirt and top). That balance of a little leg under that long coat that covers your whole body really helps.

6. Wearing a form fitting outfit, top and bottom, or a dress, throw on an oversized jacket. Gives it a lot of style and balances things out.
