Aspirational Dressing

I have definitely been guilty of this myself.

But let’s take a look at this for real. I actually see it from 2 perspectives.

1. Stop buying things for someday.

  • For someone who is built differently than you.

  • For someone who lives a different life then you.

  • Dresses for events, when you’re a homebody.

  • Heels when you never take off your sneakers.

  • Jeans, when you haven’t worn a pair in 5 years.

Who are you trying to impress? Just be yourself. Be the best you that you can be. Buy yourself the cutest sneakers, the cutest sweats and the cutest whatever else it is that you wear regularly. And just be who you are.

2. Wear the fun clothes now!

  • Stop saving for a special day.

  • Stop thinking there will finally be a time where you get dressed to leave the house.

  • Do it now!

  • Life is passing you by.

Basically, whatever your choice is, do what makes you happy. Who cares if people think you’re too dressed up. Or that you “did too much.” If it makes you happy, do it!

I get dressed to go to the grocery store or the post office, even to work from home. Because the truth is, I don’t really have a lot of places to go. But getting dressed makes ME feel good. And that’s why I do it.

So whatever your choice is, just make it and own it.

Ciao for now,
