Information Overload
For every one stylist that says you need this specific item, there’s another that will tell you the opposite.
And it’s good to gather intel and see what the overall conclusions could be. But it can also be overwhelming.
In an era of content being thrown at you from every angle, it’s hard to know who to trust. And what information is worth listening to.
The truth is, there’s a lot of noise out there. A lot of people make videos for click bait or to sell you their next item. And a lot of them are completely untrained. Meaning they only know how to dress themselves. They’re not stylists, they just have good taste, for their own bodies.
Unless you’re picking up on the nuances of their body shape, facial structure, hair color, etc., you’re being misguided.
It’s not intentionally trying to be harmful. They’re just doing what works for them. And it’s likely not going to work for you.
I really suggest hiring a stylist here. Because the information will be just about you. You’ll get 1:1 attention and answers to your questions and your needs.
There will still be fun content to watch online and there will always be inspirational things. But it should be fun and not stressful.
So take a step away if you need to. Find your best stylist and get to work.
