Keeping it minimal
but still having fun and variety
I’m not one to focus on a capsule wardrobe because I think getting dressed should be fun! It should show your personality. It’s a form of art.
And I understand that it is also a source of stress for lots of people who don’t know what to wear, and are limited on time & space.
So here’s one of my solutions.
Keep your base closet simple. Jeans, blouses, shirts, sweaters, slacks. Whatever you have. You can keep it simple, solid colors, minimal options and just rotate the combinations.
BUT to bring in the fun and variety, we turn to accessories, shoes, and outwear.
So here’s what I mean.
Accessorize it!
You can have an assortment of jewelry, glasses/sunglasses, hats, scarves. You can have some simple, solid colored items and some bold and colorful items. You can rotate these to make the outfits feel different and fun and throw in a little bit of your personality.
Walk it out!
Then there’s shoes. A boot with jeans and a tee vs a sneaker is a very different look. Invest in some good shoes and switch them up to make the outfit feel different.
The top layer!
Same goes for outerwear. A long trench vs a bomber vs a blazer. All over the same base outfit of jeans and a tee, will transform the look into something totally different.
You don’t need to have a huge catalog of shoes or jackets or accessories.
But just mix them up. Don’t wear the same shoes with the same jeans and tee combo. Or swap the jacket for another one.
Mix it up! It’ll bring new life to the tried and true looks you feel so comfortable in.
Ciao for now!
