Tips for Photoshoots (Part 1 of 3)

The Styling Breakdown

For any personal branding/content photoshoots or even professional shoots, I always have a few things I like to keep in mind for my clients.

1. You want it to look and feel like YOU!

  • ●  Your clients are working with you for a reason... and it’s not

    always just your skillset.

  • ●  It’s YOU! Your personality, your energy, your sparkle.

  • ●  Don’t’ lose that just because you want it to look “trendy” or “professional”.

  • ●  Trendy will die off and Professional can be relative to your field. Also there’s always a way to still show your unique personality and still stay professional to your line of work.

2. I don’t recommend this to be a place to take too many fashion risks, because getting your photos taken can already be a bit intimidating.

  • ●  You wanna make sure you look comfortable and confident.

  • ●  And back to the first point. You want to look like you. You want people to see the photos and know it’s you, right away.

  • ●  Like to think of my best friend looking at them, someone who knows me so well and what she would think. Does it look like me? Do I look comfortable? She’s gonna know better than anyone.

3. I would focus on colors and silhouettes that are your #1’s.

If red is your color, wear red! Even if you wear it all the time. Buy something new in red, borrow from a friend.

● Just stick with the best of the best.

If you look great in dresses, wear mostly dresses. It’s ok if your outfits are similar.

● If it’s what looks best on you, that’s what to focus on.
