Tips for Photoshoots (Part 2 of 3)

Tips & Tricks

1. Sounds silly, but the night before a shoot is not a good night for drinking, snacking, or going to bed late. All these will affect your skin, digestion, rest, and overall appearance.

2. I recommend wearing baggy comfortable clothes to your shoot.

a. You don’t want imprints of your bra, tank straps, socks, or tight leggings because you might wear something that will show these areas.

b. In between shots, it’s nice to have something easy to throw on.

3. Remember your undergarments!!! Again, this may sound silly. But sometimes it’s the last thing on your mind. You plan your outfits, your hair, makeup. You worry about getting there on time, being comfortable and confident. But you forgot your strapless bra or nude undies! (Bonus tip: Also a great reason to hire a stylist. She’ll have all that covered. 😉 )

I like to take a little bit of all the basics, even if I don’t think I’ll need them. Because, with lighting, you never know what things will look like!

Here are a few of my staples.

√  Nude bra

√  Black bra

√  Strapless bra

√  Lace bralette (for the looks where you want your bra to show, take a light and dark option)

√  Nude panties (usually a thong is safest for all looks)

√  Black panties (some looks are more sheer, but if the bottoms are dark, the flash will pick up any light tones through your clothes, so safe to have a dark pair)

√  Pasties or nipple covers, if you ever use those

√  A nude skirt slip for any dresses or skirts that may be too sheer

with the flash
